Confidence Finishing First
In an industry where time is money, Phillips Way has proven time and again that we can finish first— and deliver exactly what you want.

Because we perform our own mechanical, plumbing and carpentry work in addition to construction management, Phillips Way directly controls 50% of all work associated with a project versus the average general contractor’s 10%.

Our high rate of repeat clients is testament to the results we deliver. With highly trained and experienced employees and a focus on giving the customer what he or she wants, we run laps around our competition. And as our proven track record shows, we always get the job done on time.

No project is too challenging,
No deadline too tight,
No site too dangerous —

This embodies the Phillips Way spirit.

"Phillips Way's performance on the 11 Baltimore County Public School projects was extremely unique from the framework of diversity, shear number of projects and the overriding fact that all related milestones were met. When considering that this planning and construction work was successfully completed for 11 such projects, taking place simultaneously, the magnitude of this accomplished is very impressive."

Richard H. Cassell, P.E., Administrator
Office of Engineering and Construction
Baltimore County Public Schools

“We must compliment your crew for the assistance they gave our school staff. We would never have been ready to greet students on the first day of school, if not for the fantastic efforts of Phillips Way employees. Being the oldest school within the Howard County Public School System, West Friendship Elementary staff has had many dealings with various contractors and maintenance personnel over the years. None of our experiences can compare with the outstanding service we received from Phillips Way. We found every employee we came in contact with to be helpful, courteous and friendly. We took comfort in knowing that the Phillips Way crew were close by.” Corita Oduyoy, Principal

West Friendship Elementary School

“The presence of Phillips Way, as a construction manager provided effective communication, strict budget adherence, timely completion and overall overwhelming success on this project. All employees of performed their services professionally and responsibility.”

Mark R. North Vice President of Design Services
Osborn Associates, Inc.

“As Principal, I personally want to thank you for your attention to the internal needs of the school house as you accomplished this truly daunting task. Scheduling a large group of contractors is
difficult enough by itself. Scheduling them to work in such a fashion as to minimize the disruption to the institutional program made it vastly more complex...It was comforting to know that, if I needed something addressed immediately, you were always available. It’s certainly refreshing to be able to talk to a boss who listens, and gets things done.”

Dean P. Terry Principal
Franklin High School

“It has been our pleasure to work with Phillips Way on the Arbutus Middle School Systemic Renovations. Your level of expertise, professionalism and attention to detail has made a very complex and sensitive project flow smoothly throughout the construction process.Your aggressive yet flexible approach to this multi-year, multi-phased project not only resulted in a well completed job that fully addressed your obligations to BCPS and the staff and students of Arbutus Middle School, but also allowed you to complete the project ahead of schedule.”

Jason Thoemke, AIAVice President
Colimore Thoemke Architects, Inc.

In many ways, our business is driven by some of the same principles that make for successful racing—speed, safety, professionalism and teamwork. That’s why Phillips Way is a proud sponsor of a semi-pro racing team. See you at the finish line!

Community Involvement
Phillips Way is a proud sponsor of a number of local community programs and activities. Some of which include golf outings, BMX racing, Boy Scouts of America, little league baseball and the World Karting Association.

At Phillips Way, many of our projects are a race to the finish!
But like race car drivers whose lives are on the line,

We will never sacrifice safety or quality for speed.

From our very first critical renovation construction project in 1993, Phillips Way has thrived on making the impossible possible.

The project—an HVAC renovation to an Anne Arundel County elementary school that required the addition of a mechanical room to the building—needed to be completed while students were out for the summer. But the custom rooftop equipment for the project had a 90-day turnaround, and a competing order from one of the supplier’s largest customers threatened to further delay delivery.

Undeterred, Phillips Way owner Phillip Martien called the supply company owner directly and persuaded him to expedite and fill his order first. By coming up with the idea of having two drivers transport the cross-country shipment non-stop to cut delivery time in half, Phillips Way was able to finish the job 30 days early—yielding the company its first of many satisfied clients.

The Winner's Circle
Since 1993, Phillips Way has been committed to building successful projects through successful relationships. The teamwork we create between owners, subcontractors, and vendors ensures construction excellence while meeting schedule and budget challenges. Like a driver behind the wheel, we carefully balance expertise with efficiency, and precision with control while exceeding our clients’ expectations. Our goal is to meet the delivery requirements on time and within budget—this is easy to say but not so easy to do.

With a Principal in the driver’s seat for each project, we maintain quality performance and consistent results every time. The added benefit and ability of Phillips Way to self-perform the majority of the work associated with a project as a general and mechanical contractor also means cost saving advantages for our clients.

We are proud of our reputation for “making the impossible possible,” from highly complex occupied settings, to fast-track renovations and hazmat environments, Phillips Way is the first to step up to the challenge with real solutions when others can’t or won’t. It’s not just a motto—it’s how we work.

Winning a race is not just about speed—it’s about trust, commitment and crossing the finish line ahead of the competition. Phillips Way is truly the customer’s way.
